AI is eyeing your job. It’s time to seriously look into Digital Entrepreneurship.
You can feel it coming.
Technology, particularly artificial intelligence and machine learning, is advancing at an unprecedented rate. The ability of computers and machines to match or exceed human intelligence and physical ability is on the horizon. All types of occupations will be affected: administrative, labor, technical, creative and professional. The occupations with the most specialization such as doctors, lawyers and accountants will be the last to go, but they are not immune. Technological advancement follows an exponential curve like compound interest, so the shoe may drop at any time.
With this stark reality in mind, it is critical that today’s workers come up with a Plan B now, not later. Digital Entrepreneurship — generating income via digital/electronic transactions — is a smart, viable choice that anyone with a laptop and internet connection can do. It has low start-up costs and low risk. Perhaps best of all, it is time-flexible: do it as a side hustle while you’re still employed and build it up to the point where you can transition full time if/when your 9 to 5 job comes to an end. Many people surprise themselves and do so well that they quit their 9 to 5 jobs to spend more time on their digital business!
Digital Entrepreneurship Simplified.
The challenge with digital entrepreneurship is that there are volumes and volumes of websites, videos, courses and social media channels dedicated to it and thousands of people teaching it. This is good, as it indicates the industry is in-demand and people are making money, but it also presents problems for those just starting. The many facets of digital entrepreneurship make it difficult to get started and get traction. Many have failed and given up due to information overload, chasing the next, shiny object, and “paralysis by analysis.”
This is where I come in. This site is geared towards busy adults who don’t have time to deal with the technical aspects of digital enterpreneurship, but are savvy enough to learn new things and execute them, thanks to having worked in a career for many years. They just need clear starting directions so that they can quickly learn and understand the essence of digital entrepreneurship, and then use their knowledge to scale their efforts and increase their income. This is where the “entrepreneurship” kicks in. But, you have to know the ropes before you can do this, because it is very easy to get lost in the vast sea of information out there.
